Earl Thomas ‘way ahead of schedule’ in recovery from gruesome leg injury

Earl Thomas shared some good news with his Seahawks teammates and fans Tuesday.

The safety, who suffered a gruesome leg injury last season that left him pondering retirement, tweeted a video of his workout on a treadmill.

Thomas suffered a broken tibia in his left leg in a 40-7 win against the Panthers in early December. Before the game was even over, he tweeted out a hint at retirement (“This game has been so good to me no regrets.. A lot is running through my mind including retirement thanks for all the prayers.”)

But he quickly reassured the Seahawks he intended to return. Seahawks.com reported coach Pete Carroll told Seattle’s Sports Radio KJR Tuesday that Thomas is “way ahead of schedule now. бн Look for 29 to be back in action.”

The 27-year-old Thomas, a four-time first-team All-Pro, has been one of the key figures in the Seahawks’ feared “Legion of Boom.”
