Browns ‘starting’ Brock Osweiler at quarterback is great news … for DeShone Kizer

So the Browns have named Brock Osweiler their starting quarterback for the team’s 2017 NFL preseason opener in Cleveland on Thursday. That’s exactly what rookie DeShone Kizer should want to hear in his quest to start when it counts — Week 1 of the regular season.

Coach Hue Jackson, in a statement released by the team, based his decision to go with Osweiler against the Saints because of the current “stage in the evaluation process” of their quarterbacks.

EA Sports recently released the first gameplay trailer for “Madden NFL 18,” which includes a quick look at new features like Target Passing, Play Styles, and WR/DB Interactions.

“Madden NFL 18” also introduces the series’ first ever story mode, featuring actors that include Mahershala Ali and Scott Porter, plus appearances from licensed colleges Texas and Oregon.

The game will release Aug. 22 for those who buy the $80 “G.O.A.T” edition, and Aug. 25 for the standard edition. Those with an EA Access subscription on Xbox One will be able to start playing a 10-hour trial of the game Aug. 17.

With both a formidable defensive line and an impressive secondary, the Giants have one of the most imposing defenses in “Madden NFL 18.” Landon Collins (92 Overall), Janoris Jenkins (89 Overall) and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (89 Overall) trail only Seattle for top-rated trio in the league.

The TV debate swirling around Colin Kaepernick’s continued unemployment is getting more heated, with FS1 co-host Jason Whitlock charging that the former 49ers quarterback’s supporters are attempting a “racial shakedown” of the NFL.
